In 2024, Alkaloid AD Skopje once again confirmed its position among the largest and most successful Macedonian companies, maintaining high rankings on the Club 200 rankings.

Monitored according to economic parameters, increased exports and sales, as well as capital investments, Alkaloid AD once again in 2024 showed that it is a giant among Macedonian companies and that it is quite justifiably at the top among companies engaged in the production of pharmaceutical products, but also among the largest Macedonian companies.

Alkaloid AD is a giant that does not need much to be said about, which thanks to the achieved results is once again in the top five largest Macedonian companies, and 2024 was another successful period in which a large number of projects were implemented.

Strong position among the five largest companies in North Macedonia within the 200 LARGEST AND SUCCESSFUL

With total revenue of 14,032,427,426 denars and profit before tax of 1,872,306,460 denars , Alkaloid AD advanced one position and rose to 9th place on the list of most successful companies , while for the second year in a row it maintained 5th place on the ranking List of the largest companies in the country.

With this, the company once again confirmed its stable growth and development and the high position it has held for years in the family of the 200 LARGEST AND SUCCESSFUL.

Increased sales and increased exports in 2024

In the period January - December 2024, Alkaloid achieved consolidated sales of 308.9 million euros , of which 210.5 million euros were realized through exports, as well as investments in the amount of 23.3 million euros .

The company is recording growth both in the domestic market and in total consolidated exports, which increased by 14%.

"Of the total consolidated sales, 32% were realized on the domestic market, and 68% on foreign markets. Viewed by regions, 27% of total consolidated sales were realized in the countries of Southeast Europe, 22% in the countries of Western Europe, 18% in the countries of Eastern Europe, and 1% in other markets," the company informed.

The most dynamic growth among export markets was recorded in Cyprus, where sales increased ninefold, as well as in Lithuania, with a two-and-a-half-fold increase.

According to the sales structure, the pharmaceutical segment dominates with a 91% share in total consolidated sales, while the chemistry, cosmetics and herbal medicine segment accounts for 9%.

Capital investments in 2024 as well

In addition to seeing growth in sales and exports, Alkaloid AD also completed several capital investment projects in 2024.

The company has completed its largest investment project in the past two decades – the new Tablet Department 2.0 production facility, covering an area of 6,200 m² , with a total investment of 19.4 million euros.

Total investments in fixed assets in the period January - December amounted to 1,435,215 thousand denars.

The company continued its international expansion with the registration of a new company in Croatia – "Alkaloid Pharma International" DOO Zagreb, as well as a new capital-affiliated company in Kazakhstan – "Alkaloid Kazakhstan" DOO, headquartered in Almaty, which represents the 26th capital-affiliated company within the group.

New hires

In 2024, Alkaloid AD, for the third year in a row, received the "Most Desirable Employer" award, awarded by the vrabotuvanje.com platform .

In addition to investing in new capacities, expanding markets, and working to continuously increase sales and exports, the company also continuously invests in attracting new staff and professionals.

During 2024, 253 new jobs were created in North Macedonia.

The group has a total of 3,042 employees, of which 2,302 in the country and 740 abroad.

Alkaloid shares have been listed on the official market of the Macedonian Stock Exchange since 2002 and are considered one of the most liquid and traded. In 2024, the share price ranged from 18,151 to 29,000 denars, with an average value of 22,376.45 denars.

According to the 2025 business plan, Alkaloid plans to invest around 8% of consolidated sales revenue in tangible and intangible assets, to achieve an 8% growth in consolidated sales and a 7% increase in consolidated profit before tax compared to 2024, which is once again a clear confirmation of the continuity of development and the strategic orientation towards sustainable growth.
