Macedonia's geographical location in the heart of the Balkan Peninsula contributes to its key importance as a transit country, that is, as a country where some of the most important routes in the world converge.

The significant Corridor 8, which stretches between the Adriatic and Black Seas, as well as Corridor 10, which connects Vienna with the ports of Athens, and through Greece, further goes to Turkey and Asia, pass through North Macedonia.

It is clear from this that North Macedonia plays a very important role in the transit of goods and merchandise, which is why the construction of highways in the country is of crucial importance.

In the last two decades, new roads have been built massively in North Macedonia, and attention is also being paid to the renovation and revitalization of local and main roads.

Such projects contribute to the development of domestic construction companies, which actively participate in building the "bloodstream" of North Macedonia.

The Joint Stock Company "Ilinden" Struga, in 2023, ranked 154th among the largest and 35th among the most successful companies in North Macedonia.

The company achieved total revenue of 1,918,030,494 denars and profit before tax of 514,886,009 denars.

In percentage terms, revenue growth increased by 60.39% compared to the previous year, while profit before tax growth increased by 195.53%.

With this, the company continued the trend of revenue growth and profit increase.

According to the numbers and financial indicators, 2023 was an extremely favorable year for this Struga construction company.

Two years before that, in 2021, when North Macedonia and the world found themselves in the midst of the crisis caused by the Covid pandemic, the company saw a 0.17% drop in revenue compared to the previous year, and profit was reduced by 32.94%.

In 2022, although North Macedonia was facing unfavorable economic conditions caused by the energy crisis AD "Ilinden" managed to end the year with positive numbers and return to an upward trend compared to the previous year.

In 2022, profit growth was 8%, and revenue growth was 2.52%, ranking the company 98th on the list of the most successful companies in North Macedonia.

But, as can be seen, the following year, 2023, was crucial for the company to make a bigger leap and place itself in the top 50 most successful companies in the country.

Participation in building the "blood flow" of North Macedonia

AD "Ilinden" - Struga, thanks to the quality of its projects, has built a reputation as a reliable and trustworthy partner in the construction industry.

The company carries out projects in civil engineering, building construction, and hydraulic engineering, but is perhaps most recognizable for its participation in the construction of Macedonia's "bloodstream", i.e. in the construction of highways and regional roads.

The company also has its own facilities, such as a quarry and separation, two asphalt plants, two concrete plants, a large number of transport vehicles, construction machinery for building roads and highways, asphalt paving equipment, a production plant for concrete elements, and other equipment and assets.
