Telekabel: Navigating Growth and Profitability Challenges

Telekabel DOOEL, a leading domestic telecom operator, has demonstrated resilience and adaptability in a competitive market. This analysis explores their financial performance from 2018 to 2022.

Telekabel has steadily increased its revenue, from MKD 758.3 million in 2018 to MKD 929.7 million in 2022. This consistent growth, albeit at a decelerating rate, underscores the company’s ability to expand its market presence.

Despite revenue growth, profitability has been volatile. After peaking at MKD 154.4 million in 2018, profits fell sharply, particularly in 2020, with a 33% decrease. However, the company managed to stabilize its profit margins by 2022, showing a slight increase of 1.82%.

Telekabel’s ranking in the 200 Largest and Successful Companies in North Macedonia has seen a decline from 69th in 2018 to 198th in 2022. Despite this, the company has expanded its workforce, growing from 208 employees in 2018 to 244 in 2022, reflecting its commitment to growth and service improvement.

Telekabel’s journey over the past five years highlights the challenges of maintaining profitability while pursuing revenue growth. As the only domestic telecom operator, their strategic decisions in the coming years will be crucial for sustaining their market position.
