We can notice, from this year's edition of the 200 LARGEST AND MOST SUCCESSFUL, same as the largest companies in R. of North Macedonia, the most successful ones also notice an increase in their total profits compared to the past year 2020. Namely, the total profit before income tax of the 200 most successful companies for 2021 is 62,337,432,082.00 MKD denars, while the total profit before income tax of the most successful companies in 2020 was 54,645,511,742.00 MKD denars.

With that, an increase of even 14.07% is observed in the total profit before income tax in course of one year.

In terms of which of the industries are presented in the edition, we can see that in the top 10 most successful companies, 4 are from the processing industry - JOHNSON MATTHEY DOOEL, IGM-TRADE DOO, ALKALOID AD and USJE AD, then 1 is from the industry of wholesale and retail trade - MAKPETROL AD, 1 is from the mining and quarrying industry - SASA DOOEL, 1 is from the information and communications industry - MAKEDONSKI TELEKOM AD, 1 is from the construction industry - JP ZA DZRAVNI PATISTA, 1 from the administrative and support service industry - EVN MAKEDONIJA AD and 1 from the industry of supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - TE-TO AD, Skopje.

The processing industry once again records the highest realized profit before income tax for the year 2021, namely - 21,968,115,554.00 MKD denars. Ranked first on the list is the company JOHNSON MATTHEY DOOEL, Skopje, with a total profit before income tax of 5,034,288,542.00 MKD denars.

SASA DOOEL, Makedonska Kamenica.

Sasa — a lead and zinc mine located on the southern slopes of the Osogovo mountains, in close proximity to the village of Sasa. It is the largest underground mine in Macedonia. The company has been on the lists of the largest and most successful in Macedonia since 2006.

This year they are ranked as the 3rd most successful company in Macedonia for 2021.

They have achieved a total profit before income tax of 2,459,618,282 MKD denars which is 45.37% more compared to the 2020 where their profit before income tax was 1,692,028,944 MKD denars.

Today, the company has 720 employees, which also represents their highest average number of employees for a year, compared to the past 5 years.

Another company that is on the list of the top 10 most successful in Macedonia in the last 5 years is EVN MAKEDONIJA AD, Skopje.

This year, EVN MAKEDONIJA is in 5th place among the most successful companies for 2021.

In the past years, EVN has invested over 452 million euros in improving the overall quality of electricity distribution and supply, as well as user services.
EVN now represents a larger family of companies that share the same values of superior customer service and sustainability in every respect.

EVN also has the newest member of the family, which is EVN Home. EVN Home takes care of and is performing the role of universal electricity supplier and supplier of last resort. EVN Home supplies electricity to users who did not choose a supplier on the liberalized market.

In the 9th place among the most successful companies comes a company from the processing industry, more precisely from the activity of manufacturing of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations. We are talking about ALKALOID AD, Skopje.

ALKALOID AD, Skopje is a company that has been working for more than eight and a half decades on the production of medicines, the processing of herbal raw materials and the production of cosmetic and chemical products.

"Alkaloid" AD is a joint-stock company, within which two profit centers work: Pharmacy and Chemistry, cosmetics and herbal medicine. There are two subsidiaries in the country, 19 subsidiaries and 2 representative offices abroad (in Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Ukraine, Russian Federation, USA, Great Britain and Romania) .

They note the same rank on the list of the most successful (9) as the last year, but with an increase in their profit and also in the total revenue.

Namely, they note an increase in the total profit before income tax of 11.20%, while the increase of the total revenue compared to 2020 is 4.36%.

We also see an increase in the average number of employees in 2021. It amounted to 1860, which is 123 more than in 2020, where the average number of employees was 1737, which means that even in these crisis conditions the company managed to increase their number of employees and continue their successful operation.
