Raise your voice! - Makpetrol stands up against bullying

Byllying is one of the negative trends that are gaining momentum in the world, but they are not left out in our country either.

The consequences, unfortunately, can be very serious for society, parents, but mostly for children who are victims of this type of violence. Therefore, a joint approach to solving such problems and securing a better future for the young generations is very important. For this purpose, we dedicate this text to one of the most significant campaigns for bullying, launched by one of the largest Macedonian companies - Makpetrol. Read the entire interview with the company below.

1. What is the reason why Makpetrol decided to launch such a campaign?

- Bullying is not a problem isolated only to today's generations, but a condition that has progressed over the past years and the effects are noticeable. Makpetrol, as a socially responsible company, has always listened to the problems faced by the community by offering support and options to resolve these situations. Bullying is also present in the world and our goal is to draw attention to it and contribute to young people developing as tolerant and peaceful individuals who understand individual stories without judgment.

2. What is the basic idea of this campaign and what is the expected result?

- Like most socially responsible campaigns, this one has several goals, but among the most important would probably be - children, but also parents, teachers, in fact, the whole society, to understand the significance of the problem of bullying and to find a way to contribute to its resolution. From the very beginning of the activities, we have had an excellent response from the citizens. They tell personal experiences and share their impressions. A key part of the campaign is education. Workshops are held throughout the schools, printed materials are shared, that is, knowledge is passed on to the children, but also to the parents. That is why we hired psychotherapists who were involved in the entire process of preparing the communication for the campaign. There are also psychologists who work with the animated series "Биби и Боби" who have also prepared educational content for better understanding and dealing with bullying.

3. How do you plan to implement this campaign in the future?

- We are all aware that bullying is a serious social problem, the solution of which is a huge challenge. In order to get to that point, it is necessary to have an open conversation and jointly devise solutions that would be long-term. The website kreniglas.mk is designed as a resource that can be used by everyone who wants to, first, to get to know the problem of bullying in more detail, and then contribute to its solution. We are really glad that part of the municipalities, through elementary schools, joined the campaign and it is there, most directly with the children, that we hope that the positive benefits of this socially responsible campaign will be felt the most.

4. Do you currently have and can you share any strategy or planned activities for educating citizens about the seriousness of this problem and how important it is to influence its resolution?

- The website kreniglas.mk abounds with educational contents that cover various aspects of the problem of bullying. At this internet address there are materials intended for children, as well as for parents and teachers, as the most directly involved in the development of young generations. In addition, there are quizzes on the website through which participants can see their knowledge on the subject of bullying, and there is also an opportunity to anonymously share personal experiences with this huge problem. In elementary schools where a psychotherapist has workshops with students and professional services, printed educational materials intended for children and parents are also shared. Through all these activities, we hope to contribute to strengthening knowledge and thus increasing general awareness of the problem of bullying.

5. Are there other companies/collaborators who support you and make an active contribution at the moment?

- Increasing public interest in the problem of bullying, as well as its long-term impact on the development of future generations, are among the main goals of this socially responsible campaign. We are convinced that, first of all, we need to talk more openly about this topic and through those discussions we can jointly come to solutions that, instead of being short-lived, will help substantially. That is why, all educational institutions or every municipality, which recognizes this value, has the opportunity to establish contact with "Makpetrol" and join the campaign.

Respectfully,

Makpetrol AD
