Since 2017, the SASA mine is part of the international mining company Central Asia Metals.
The mine has a stable production of 820,000 tons of ore obtained and transported annually, while using the most modern equipment that meets the highest safety standards. About 35,000 tons of lead and 43,000 tons of zinc are produced in the mine.
Also, the SASA mine is the first mine in the Republic of North Macedonia that has received an A-integrated environmental permit from the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning.
SASA DOOEL is one of the most successful companies in Macedonia over the years. Thus, in 2022 they again found themselves among the top 5 companies (ranked by pre-tax profit) and managed to take 3rd place.
Their profit amounted to 45,453,301 euros, which represents a growth of 13.6% compared to 2021.

At the same time, SASA is the largest employer in the Eastern region of North Macedonia, and priority is given to local employment. About 750 people are employed in the mine, of which 88% are from the local municipality of Makedonska Kamenica.
The operation and future of the mine are based on the concept of sustainable development and are inextricably linked to the life and prosperity of the community. The support provided by SASA at the state and municipal level directly contributes to the construction of local infrastructure in and around Makedonska Kamenica. In addition, through its Foundation, Sasa invests more than 200,000 dollars every year in support of the local community in areas such as education, science, environmental protection, healthcare and vulnerable social groups.
