In the edition, you can find two lists according to the industry of the companies, one for the largest companies according to total revenues and one for the most successful according to the realized profit before tax.

Here we present the largest industry according to the total revenues of the companies in 2022. You can find the complete data about the companies in the analysis section, and we present the tabular representation of the activities at the end of this text.

According to the attached table, the largest activity for 2022 is Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles with total revenues of MKD 382.2 billion by 86 companies.

Within this activity, the largest is the Wholesale trade group, except trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles (activity code 46). The total revenues that the companies from this industry achieved last year amounted to MKD 237.4 billion. It is about 59 companies that are under this activity code in the Central Registry. While the total realized profit before tax within this activity amounts to MKD 7 billion, we note that most of these companies are also part of the list of the most successful.

In 2022, 5345 people were employed in the 59 companies belonging to this group. This number, although large, still does not categorize the industry as the largest according to the number of employees. In fact, the group with activity code 47, which includes companies engaged in retail trade, except trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles, includes 23 companies employing as many as 13,798 people.

This group has realized income of 133.3 billion denars and profit before tax of MKD 4.4 billion.

Within the largest activity, the smallest is the group with code 45 called Wholesale and retail trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles. This group includes 4 companies with total revenues of MKD 11.5 billion and a profit of MKD 764 million.
