With significant investments worth almost 60 million euros, the pharmaceutical production department boasts state-of-the-art facilities for the production of solid dosage forms, semi-synthetic cephalosporins, liquids and semi-solid forms.

Starting from 2018, Alkaloid is putting into operation several new plants: for semi-solid forms, for drug packaging and for dosing liquids for oral use, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, all in order to raise the level of automation of production and increase of capacities.

The Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Division produces a comprehensive range of pharmaceutical forms, including solid and liquid dosage forms for oral use and topical preparations. Additionally there is the opioid extraction plant which includes the production of morphine and its derivatives as pharmaceutical raw materials.

The second significant segment in Alkaloid is the cosmetics division which has also established itself as a leader in the industry. The department includes products for the care of all skin types, hair care products, perfumes and household cosmetics.

Another part of the successful story of Alkaloid AD is the department of botany, where the company produces a range of teas under its own brand Good Nature, spices and dried vegetables under the brand Grini, food additives - Zachinal, iodized salt and more.

In 1957, Alkaloid created another department that continues to operate to this day - the chemistry department. The chemistry department's diverse product portfolio includes pure chemicals, organic and inorganic reagents, medical devices, cleaning agents and disinfectants.
