One of the analyzes in the edition is the division of companies into main categories and subcategories of activities, according to the National Classification of Activities.

In the following, we present a subcategory of the classification that includes beverage production companies: Pivara Skopje AD, Vinarska Vizba - Tikves AD and Prilepska Pvarnica.

Pivara Skopje AD is the oldest Macedonian brewery that has existed since 1922 and celebrated its 100th birthday last year. The company constantly does new investments in modern equipment and the latest technology that contributes to the modernization of the company and helps its sustainable development. It is also one of the companies that are part of the 200 largest and most successful companies since the very beginning of the edition in 2003.

What we can conclude from the data available to our publication, Pivara Skopje records a successful growing trend over the years, and only in 2021 we can see that there has been an increase in total income of 9.60%, while the profit before taxation has significantly increased increases by 19, 24%. The company ranks in the high 40th place on the list of the largest and 12th place on the list of the most successful companies for 2021. The number of employees in continuity remains slightly less than 400 people.

VINARSKA VIZBA - TIKVES AD is one of the companies that is on the list of 200 largest and most successful companies in Macedonia and its activity belongs to the subcategory - production of beverages. Tikvesh is the largest wine cellar in Macedonia. Tikvesh wines are grown in sun-drenched vineyards, cultivated with lots of love and are made and bottled by top experts in the world-class wine industry. The awards their wines have won are the ultimate proof of their commitment to the highest quality.

For 2021, Tikvesh sees an increase in their total revenue and also in their pre-tax profit. Namely, in the list of the largest companies, they were in 105th place, while in the list of the most successful companies, they were in 87th place. This represents an increase of 9 places on the list of the largest companies and a remarkable 69 places on the list of the most successful compared to last year 2020. In addition to that, we see an increase in their total income of 27.72%; and a rise in their pre-tax profit of a significant 109%. Also, the average number of employees in Tikvesh for 2021 shows a slight increase from 192 to 196 employees.

PRILEPSKA PIVARNICA AD since its existence in 1924 until today, has been constantly improving and advancing the quality of its products and creating new ones. The main activity and the most famous product is beer, but the company also produces full and non-alcoholic drinks, both from domestic origin and from world-famous brands for which it is an authorized distributor.

The year 2021 was very successful for this company and brought growth and increase in revenue and profit. Namely, Prilepska Pivarnica in 2021 increases its income compared to 2020 by 4.26%, while the profit before tax increases by 5.84%. Apart from this, the company employs about 250 people and thus contributes to the employment level of the country. With the given data, Prilepska Pivarnica is ranked 124th in terms of total revenue and 168th in terms of profit before tax.
