A1 Macedonia: From digital connectivity to social responsibility

A1 Macedonia stands out as a leading telecom company with strong financial results and impactful CSR initiatives, including the “Responsibly with Technology” campaign focused on road safety and digital awareness.

At a time when telecommunications companies play an increasingly important role in everyday life, their responsibility does not end with providing quality services. The way they use their social impact to support topics of public interest is gaining increasing importance.

According to data from the 200 Largest and Most Successful edition, based on financial results for 2024, A1 Macedonia ranks 18th in terms of revenue and 11th in terms of profit before tax. The company generated revenue of 10.6 billion denars and profit of over 1.3 billion denars.

In addition to financial results, A1 Macedonia has also stood out in the past period with the national socially responsible campaign "Responsibly with Technology", implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Interior.

The campaign opened up a topic that is becoming increasingly relevant in the digital age – the use of mobile phones and digital distraction in traffic. With the strong message that no notification or phone call is worth more than a human life, the initiative attracted great public attention and opened a broad debate on traffic safety.

It is particularly significant that the initiative was not only aimed at drivers, but also at pedestrians, cyclists, and users of electric scooters, recognizing that responsibility in traffic is shared.

The success of the campaign was also confirmed by the high level of public interest, with tens of thousands of interactions and broad media visibility. This shows that companies with a large social reach can play an important role in raising public awareness about topics that directly affect the quality of life.

The example of A1 Macedonia shows that the telecommunications sector is not only a driver of digital transformation, but can also be an active partner in solving societal challenges through responsible and impactful initiatives.
