The analysis reveals a diverse mix of industries represented among the top 10 companies. If the revenue and profit figures are examined, it is evident that these top companies have experienced remarkable growth in recent years.

Specifically, the largest 10 companies saw an increase in the total revenue of 45.03% compared to the year before it and even 58.8% compared to 2018. Accordingly, the profit of the 10 most successful companies shows an annual increase of 9.22%, but in relation to the 5-year comparison, we do not see any growth.

At the top of the list, as last year, is JOHNSON MATTHEY DOOEL, Skopje, which achieved impressive revenue growth of 19.10% on an annual basis. The company represents a foreign direct investment that has been present in Macedonia since 2009. Together with them on the list of top 10 largest companies we can note another foreign direct investment. We are talking about the company KROMBERG & SHUBERT Macedonia Bt DOOEL from Bitola, which has been less present in Macedonia than Johnson Matthey, but managed to become one of the main companies that helped in reducing unemployment in Macedonia with leadership positions on the lists ranked by the number of employees.

The company OKTA AD - Skopje and the company MAKPETROL AD Skopje lead the pack in the sector of wholesale and retail trade in motor fuels and similar products and are in the 2nd and 3rd positions of the largest companies in 2022.

Then we can notice a group of companies that belong to the activity of production and trade of electricity. These are AD ESM, EVN HOME, GENI-I Prodazhba na energija, TE-TO AD and ELEKTRODISTRIBUCIA Dooel.

A closer look at the top companies reveals their strategic focus on investment and expansion. The only company from the industry of retail trade in non-specialized stores that was in the top 10 companies is KAM DOO, Ilinden. Kam managed, as last year, to occupy a high position, which is side by side with companies from many different industries, which once again shows the diversity of the companies that were in the top 10 (ranked by the total revenue).

While the top 10 companies have achieved remarkable success, they are not without challenges. Increased competition, evolving consumer demands and regulatory changes present potential risks. However, these challenges also present opportunities for innovation, strategic partnerships and market diversification.

In the list of the most successful companies, we can notice an even greater variety in terms of which industries they come from.

The company JP ZA DRŽRAVNI PATISHTA was one position under JOHNSON MATTHEY, and represents the most successful state company in Macedonia for the year 2022. The SASA mine, which has been owned by the international company Central Asia Metals since 2017, affirmed its success in 2022 as well. Thus, we note the 2 companies SASA DOOEL as well as CMK Europe (Central Asia Metals) as one of the most successful for the past year.

In addition, through its proactive business strategy and effective operational initiatives, IGM-TRADE has successfully consolidated its position, strengthened its market presence in Macedonia and achieved notable growth in financial performance.

3 more industries that are included in the 10 most successful companies are telecommunications, electricity transmission and the production of pharmaceuticals. We are talking about Makedonski Telekom AD Skopje, MEPSO AD as well as Alkaloid AD, Skopje.
