Once again the processing industry is the most successful one in 200 LARGEST AND SUCCESSFUL
The companies from the processing industry and its subgroups, set this activity as the most successful, with the highest total realized profit, once again last year.
The sorting by activities of the companies in 200 LARGEST AND SUCCESSFUL is according to the National Classification of Activities adopted by the State Statistics Office.
According to the data obtained from the CRNM on the financial results of the companies in 2022, the companies that are part of the processing industry achieved altogether the highest profit before taxation in relation to other industries.
As the table shows, according to the activities of the companies in 200 LARGEST AND SUCCESSFUL, within this activity there are companies from as many as 17 subgroups. By far the most successful is the one for the Production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers with a total profit before tax of MKD 7 billion. Foreign direct investments, which have appeared on our market in recent years, undoubtedly play a big role here, and a large part of them are aimed at the production of parts and equipment for the automotive industry.
Second on the list is Production of metals, with less than half the realized profit compared to the previous one, in the amount of MKD 3.5 billion. In addition to foreign companies, this group also includes domestic companies, such as IGM Trade, which has achieved the highest profit within the group.
This is followed by Production of other non-metallic mineral products with MKD 1.96 billion in profit, Production of basic pharmaceutical products and preparations with MKD 1.5 billion, Production of beverages with MKD 1.3 billion, Manufacture of rubber and plastic products with MKD 847 million, etc.
The last group, i.e. activity, has a realized profit of MKD 92.9 million, and it is for companies engaged in the production of clothing.
As expected, the companies from the most successful activity also have the largest number of employees, with as many as 18,000 employees, while the clothing manufacturing activity has the fewest employees, i.e. 36 people. A total of 30,903 employees are included in the manufacturing industry.
