When we talk about the 200 LARGEST AND MOST SUCCESSFUL companies, we must emphasize that RES is one of the rare companies that, in a very short period of time since its establishment, managed to find itself in the 40th place in the top largest, and in the 57th place in the list of the most successful companies in Macedonia.

Renewable Energy Supply (RES) is a modern and innovative company - a leader in electricity trade in the Republic of North Macedonia.

"We are the only company on the Macedonian market that offers companies supply from their own sources of renewable electricity that guarantee security and the best prices on the market" - it says on the company's website.

This company celebrated its first birthday in February 2023, and the results it has achieved so far are at an enviable level.

Thanks to them, Renewable Energy Supply (RES) managed to take the high 40th place on the list of the largest companies in North Macedonia.

The Annual Report of the Regulatory Commission for Energy and Water Services for 2023 also testifies to the company's success.

According to the information published in the aforementioned report, after only one year of its establishment, RES (Renewable Energy Supply) alone held one third of the free market.

According to the published information, most of the economy was supplied with electricity by this company, and the rest was shared by 20 other suppliers.

In 2023, RES sold 610,000 MWh of electricity, or 28.84% of total energy on the free market, while in the supply of large entities it held as much as 34% of the market.

In the same year, RES achieved a total income of 279,812,196 MKD, and in one year, a growth in income of 75.76% was recorded.

In 2023, the company offered services to about 700 clients.

How did RES rise to the leading position in the energy market?

In 2022, while the world was still recovering from the corona crisis, the outbreak of war in Ukraine brought new challenges.

Resource price spikes created increased inflation, which, in turn, caused price shocks that were reflected in every aspect of economic life.

The use of electricity produced by thermal power plants has become unprofitable for a large number of companies, precisely because the price jumps in energy sources have caused great unpredictability and the inability to form the final price of products, as well as the risk of losses.

The increased prices of oil and gas, as well as the dependence of the price of electricity on the import price, have caused the energy crisis in North Macedonia to further flare up.

That is why it has become necessary for North Macedonia to turn to the future and to the production of electricity from renewable sources as soon as possible.

In the same year, RES was formed as a company that aimed to unite all smaller producers of electricity from renewable sources in one center, which guaranteed a secure, stable, but also cheaper supply for Macedonian companies.

Since their electricity production did not depend on price spikes in resources, they were able to offer electricity to users at a fixed price on the free market, which then resulted in increased demand among customers and the company's rise among the best in Macedonia.

What RES offered to the Macedonian energy market very quickly became attractive and more profitable for the management of the companies.

Many of them found salvation from price shocks precisely in the stability that RES offered them as a company.

"Our goal is to sell the majority of electricity production from renewable sources in the Republic of North Macedonia and as much as possible of electricity production from renewable sources in the Republic of Bulgaria to end users on the Macedonian market.
In today's unstable electricity market conditions with large price variations, only companies that have their own production can guarantee stability and security in electricity supply.
RES offered the Macedonian economy exactly that - a stable supply from their own renewable energy sources," they state.

The electricity that RES offers to end users is produced by photovoltaics, hydroelectric power plants and wind turbines. They guarantee a stable, secure, reliable, environmentally friendly and cheaper supply of electricity from renewable sources with a total installed capacity of up to 580 megawatts.

Hence, their service became necessary for the Macedonian economy, which simultaneously required stability, care for the environment and lower electricity bills.

RES provided 40 companies with savings of 2.8 million euros in three months

After the first year of operation, the company managed to establish itself on the list of 200 LARGEST and MOST SUCCESSFUL companies in Macedonia, and the results of their work were felt by their customers in the first few months of cooperation, thanks to lower electricity bills.

With the establishment of RES, a large number of companies from the food industry, information and communication technologies, metal and electrical industries, as well as from other sectors (health and pharmacy, energy, construction companies and others) decided to purchase electricity from renewable sources.

According to a press release from RES, published in October 2022 (just a few months after its formation), a total of 40 companies managed to save 2.8 million euros, compared to the amount they would have paid if they had procured electricity from other suppliers.

"40 companies, which chose the so-called combined electricity supply package, received electricity bills in July, August and September that are on average 15-30% lower than stock market prices.
RES guarantees these companies that 35% of the energy supplied will be at a fixed price and that it will not change regardless of the growth of stock markets.
This is the amount of electricity that RES provides from the renewable energy power plants of its founders, the Macedonian Central Invest owned by Kocho Angjushev and the Bulgarian Toki Power, as well as from other renewable energy producers from the Republic of North Macedonia that deliver the energy to RES," the RES statement reads.

Who can purchase electricity from RES?

In addition to companies and large consumers, households can also purchase electricity from RES.

The above-mentioned entities can make an approximate calculation on the Calculator, which is available on the RES website itself, or request an approximate offer in the following cases:

• If the contract with the previous supplier has expired;
• If they have not yet selected an electricity supplier;
• If they have a non-binding supply contract with a supplier, in accordance with legal procedures.

RES prepares the most favorable supply packages for its customers, which are tailored to the needs of the consumer himself.

The fact that RES, upon their request, provides customers with an approximate calculation and the opportunity to know in advance how much the electricity bill they will receive in the coming period would be is just one more reason why an increasing number of users are opting for their services.
