THE LARGEST AND MOST SUCCESSFUL BANKS in Macedonia for 2022
Banks have a central role in the economic system, because they perform some activities, which are of vital importance for the functioning of the economy.
In the 200 LARGEST AND SUCCESSFUL edition, in addition to companies, the largest and most successful banks are also ranked.
The ranking of banks is carried out according to official financial data obtained from the Central Registry of N. Macedonia. The ranking of the largest banks is done according to the total capital and reserves, and the ranking of the most successful banks according to the total profit/loss before taxation.
We can notice that we have little changes in the ranks of the top 3 banks ranked for 2022.

As last year, and for 2022, Stopanska Banka AD Skopje was found as the largest bank on the list. Stopanska banka AD - Skopje is a Bank with the longest tradition on the Macedonian market. Founded as the first bank in the country in 1944, Stopanska banka laid the foundations for banking operations and is still a leader in the development and implementation of the most modern financial products and services for the population and legal entities operating in North Macedonia. For 2022, they noted growth in capital and reserves of 12.2% compared to last year.

The second position this year is occupied by NLB Banka AD, Skopje. NLB Banka is a banking institution in the Republic of N. Macedonia with a constant growth trend and positive results from its foundation until today. They achieved total capital and reserves of 253.360.535 euros, and the total profit was 43.612.273 euros. With that profit, NLB sees growth in its position on the list of the largest and most successful banks. Namely, for the year 2022, they are ranked as the number 1 most successful bank and as the number 2 largest bank in Macedonia. The growth of profit is shown with a growth of 9.6% compared to last year.
