Granit Joint Stock Company was established as a company for the construction of roads for the needs of the Socialist Republic of Macedonia, according to the government decision of the Republic of Macedonia No. 1235/52 on November 24, 1952. In the following 57 years, Granit was transformed from a state-owned company to a joint-stock company through privatization in 1996, which later became the largest Macedonian construction company.
During the Yugoslav era, Granit developed its capacities and became a company capable of executing more complex projects. After the Macedonian market could not satisfy the full capacity, Granit expanded and began to participate in international projects.
Today, Granit strives to maintain a balance between work on the domestic and foreign markets, in order to maintain its leadership position in the field of construction. Granit will continue to be dedicated to the development of the infrastructure in Macedonia, as well as to gather knowledge from working in foreign markets.
The people behind the Granite name today have one common desire – to preserve what has been formed up to this point, so that Granite can step into the future with even greater strength, as the name itself suggests.
