The story of the company actually dates back a year before its official start of operations, in 1901, when Paul Kromberg, after completing his education and working as an engineer, decided to start producing cables in his brother's factory.

Although he had a number of ideas, he initially lacked fresh capital and knowledge of the business sector, so this is where Ernst Schubert stepped in.

Thus, the two founded the company Kromberg & Schubert in Barmen (present-day Wuppertal) in 1902.

From the very beginning, to this day, the company has been focused on innovative processes and expanding production capacities, surviving even during periods of war and severe economic crises.

In the 1970s and 1980s, the company took its first steps towards internationalization by opening new factories in Ireland and Scotland, and with the fall of the Berlin Wall in the 1990s, the opportunity to open new factories in Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania opened up.

After 2002, the company took on even greater momentum and opened an even larger number of factories in Poland, England, Mexico, Romania, Ukraine, Tunisia, Botswana, Czech Republic, Macedonia, China, Morocco, Spain, Serbia and Paraguay.
