The latest edition of the 200 LARGEST AND SUCCESSFUL companies in Macedonia is published

The edition is composed of several thematically separated segments based on official financial data, i.e. a division of the 200 largest companies ranked according to their achieved total revenue and 200 most successful companies ranked according to their profit before income tax, as well as data on their average number of employees. The edition also contains a ranking of the largest and most successful banks according to their capital and reserves and profit before income tax and largest and most successful insurance companies ranked to their gross written premium and profit before income tax in the Republic of North Macedonia.

An additional analysis has been made of the companies by industries, their territorial representation, a list of the fastest growing companies and the largest employers for 2021.

For more than 15 years, we have been publishing the 50 largest and most successful companies from the countries of the region. For instance, available in this year's edition are the 50 largest and most successful companies from R. of Slovenia and 50 largest and most successful companies from R. of Croatia for 2021.

As we are well aware, the big recovery from the economic crisis that started in 2020 also continued throughout 2021. Most sectors were hit hard by that, and are still recovering to this day.
Immediately before the beginning of the heating season, the energy crisis began, mostly with the increase in the price of electricity, but also of the all types of fuels, especially natural gas.
The growth in the price of energy on the world markets, including other primary products, fueled the overall price pressures that spilled over into the national economies through the international markets. Now, those pressures, as a result of the culmination of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, are becoming much stronger.

Despite all these challenges in the past year, the companies in Republic of North Macedonia managed to record a successful year and increase their revenues and profits.

The companies that are on the lists of the 200 BIGGEST AND SUCCESSFUL in 2021 achieved a total income of 14,15 billion euros. With that, they note an increase of 17.9% compared to 2020.

They achieved a total profit before income tax of 1,05 billion euros.
The profit growth of the most successful compared to 2020 is 11.8%.

The total average number of employees of the 200 largest and most successful companies for the past year was 97,397.
