The use of dolomite in the steel industry has increased rapidly in the past decades as a result of their positive commitment to producing clean steel in a clean environment.

The factory for dolomite refractory materials was built in 1964/65. as a part of the company RIOM "Silika" from Gostivar.

In July 2003 The Turkish company "Haznedar Refrakter Sanai" becomes the 100% owner of "Silika-Dolomit", now "Vardar Dolomit"- DOOEL Gostivar. After taking over the factory, the new owner invested additional funds to modernize and restart production and continues to invest until today.

In 2022, the company managed to take 113th place on the list of the Most Successful Companies ranked by their total profit before taxation. Also, Vardar Dolomit had an average number of employees of 130 during the past year.

Vardar Dolomit places special importance on maintaining the quality of its products at the highest level. Confirmation of this is the certification of the international quality standard ISO 9001, which has been continuously maintained since 2006.
